Where My Dogs At ....Argentina?

Diego Maradona can not catch a break, even with his own dog.  The 1986 World Cup Champion and current Argentina  National Team head coach got bitten by his own dog and had to go to the hospital to get plastic surgery for the injury.  You can't make this stuff up.  Click here for the story.

Jersey and US Reps Futbol

The MLS season has begun this past week and I came across a good article on http://www.mlssoccer.com/ about our local New Jersey and American soccer players playing pro soccer oversea's.  I consider myself an avid soccer fan and there were a couple players that I wasn't aware that are playing in leagues around the globe.
We know about stars Tim Howard on Everton and Dempsey on Fullham, both in the Premier League, but it's good to see our players take on bigger roles with their pro teams and getting more exposure.  Kudos to MLS to recognizing these players and their impact.  Click here for the article.

Eat Right Through the Drive Thru

I came across this article on webmd.com and thought it was something very useful that we could all take advantage of.  It has the top 10 healthy fast food options and nutritional break down.  It's no secret that we could always eat better, exercise more, and try to take more care of ourselves, especially as we get older.  The other part of that is that we work and have a hundred of other things going on where it sometimes makes eating right a difficult chore.  Who doesn't want to get the bacon cheeseburger and fries?  It's cheap, tastes great and you can get it a few minutes.  Perfect, right?  SIKE!Quite the opposite, especially if we make that a common routine.  Our clothes get tighter, you don't have the same kind of energy and you know it's just not healthy for you.  Well this article at least gives us some options that we can still try and eat better and quite healthy while on the go and taking advantage of healthier options on fast food menu's.  Who wouldn't want a grilled chicken meal with mashed potatoes and corn every once in while, so take a look and make note of some of the options and give it a try the next time you're running around.  You'll feel much better and appreciate the variety from eating salads everyday.
(Salad, you're mean and not nice, please taste better soon!)

TINC2

I can't seem to stop listening to Fabolous's new mixtape, There Is No Competition 2 hosted by DJ Drama.  Fabo provided the free download a couple weeks ago and it's a classic.  I've been preaching that artists have really made their self promotion a certified art form because their mixtapes are killin it right now.  They're better than most major release albums.  This mixtape is really top of line.  You get a one of the best lyricisit's in the game right now give you new material on the most popular beats out right now.  Nothing better than when you can hit play on an album and listen to the whole thing from front to back, no skipping neccessary.  I'm sure you'll find listening to it over and over again and the best part was that it was for Free.99!!  FABO has enlisted himself as one of today's best hip-hop artists and there shouldn't be a question about it.  After his latest major label release, "Loso's Way", he has definitely  made himself into one of today's most respected and talented rap artist's.  .  If you've been a fan of FaBolous since he's been around then you might be an old head but you know that you're getting the best the game offers. Download this mixtape right here

Our Fallen Soldiers

I saw this article from the New York Times and it made it very difficult to ignore the reality of the Iraq and Afghanistan war.  It's unbelievable to think it's been seven years and running, but more importantly I don't think we realize the actual impact it has to the families and friends.  These families and friends who lose their loved one have to go on every day going forward knowing they will never see their son or daughter, father, brother, sister, mother again.  This article are a collection of pictures by Ashley Gilbertson of the empty bedroom's left behind by our fallen.  I found it very moving and I'm sure you will too.  Please click here to see "The Shrine Down the Hall" by Ashely Gilbertson.

Last Person Ever To See Shawshank

Yes, it's true.  I'm the last person to have seen "Shawshank Redemption" and for this, I blame friends and family.  Not one of them ever sat me down and said, hey, you need to watch this.  For whatever reason, the past 16  years have gone by and this has never occurred.  A couple times I've seen a few minutes here and there, but with commercials and the swears dubbed over, which makes any movie impossible to watch.

I bought this movie for I think $5 and finally watched it recently and it was probably the best cinco pesos I've spent in quite some time.  One of the best movies ever...yes, ever.  I don't think many people would disagree...it's in everyones top five, I bet.  Go ahead, ask your pals (it was nominated for Best Picture in 95).
The story of Andy, Red, and the Warden is an unforgettable one that is an emotional roller coaster worth taking.  Great acting along with a great S. King story makes a timeless classic that has you feel despair and complete victory.  It gives you the exact experience that you want a movie to give you.  You buy into the characters and let them tell you an amazing, dramatic story through out and up to the very end.  Not many movies will top this.  I'm sure you already have seen this, but I suggest to see it again anyway.

Sneaker Head Heaven

Not sure how long it has been around, but sneakernews.com is one of the best sneaker websites I have come across. The consistency of new articles about new kicks and the detailed pictures are enough to have any sneaker head hooked and checking on updates every couple hours. It seems as if they've left no sole unturned and have a direct feed to the sneaker heavens. Everything from the ever popular Jordan's to the newest, freshest Gucci sneakers are highlighted.
It doesn't stop there. The standard "release date" information they have are top notch and you don't have to miss a new drop ever again. Are you just getting into the kick game now? (Where have you been the last 20 years?) There are sections that give the history on some of the most iconic sneaks that have ever graced pavement, hardwood, or never the left the safe confines of their shoe box, such as Jordan's and Nike Skateboarding.
The layout is relatively simple and I think that's what is fantastic about it. You get what you go there to get. The latest information on every new sneaker, previous releases, the most popular sneaker lines, Ebay links, etc. The categories are perfect and as I mentioned before, they have multiple, clear, fantastic pictures of all the sneakers they do articles on. You get every angle and some times the pics even look artistic combined with the designs of the footware. I'll be posting links to my favorite kicks going forward, but if you have any interest in tennis sneaks or you're a die hard man shoe lover, this is the site thats starts and ends the conversation.
